A quick search shows that the price maybe abour right if you considering the amp is unobtanium. Hopefully someone who has actually owned/listened to it can chime in.

Not...unreasonable but certainly not cheap. Depending on what transducers you use it could be really good but IMHO it's just not as resolving as some of the other tube amps. Hint: Works well with a type of transducer I generally really hate

that’s a lot of clams for a headphone amp, especially one that would be difficult to repair if borked. I think today’s entry level amps approach that sound for much less money. I passed on a crimson for $1000.

Cautionary tale: I found my unicorn (T4) and it arrived busted. @TomB has been amazing but 3 months later we are still going. Complete rebuild with custom transformers from Lundahl etc. $$$. I should have spent the money on a Corolla.

If @TomB didn’t step back into the game to help me out I would have been left with a very attractive paperweight.
