But, the weird default to digital out (that's not selectable until there's a music stream??) is just stupid. Unless I'm completely missing something, "plug and play" isn't exactly plug and play. Oh, and the volume knob noise between steps is laughable for any piece of audio equipment at this price.
@Ksaurav402 The digital out allows you to use your dongle as a USB to spdif converter to feed a nicer desktop DAC. It’s a function most people will never use but I actually think it’s a nice feature. Anything that helps people to bypass USB is a plus in my book.
Looking forward to your impressions but I agree, the volume pot noise is crap! I sometimes have to click back/forth to get the channels to match. And as another data point, I haven't run into the default digital out issue (or even attempted to use the feature). Been pretty much plug-n-play so far, using primarily with my iphone.
One more downside is how much power it appears to draw as long as it's plugged in, whether or not it's playing audio. But the pros outweight the cons enough that I just ordered a cable that will help it draw from an external battery. Just standard audiophool behavior I guess, making this less 'portable' and more cumbersome.
