I may need a little more explanation of the DSotM test. :) That album is great, but my band used to play it in its entirety so it gets boring sometimes, lol.

The real question is; which masters?

Back when dynamic range and headroom weren't feared

    DSotM test for me:
Sub bass of heart beat at beginning of Speak to Me can create a phantom bass feeling in the sternum if the DUT can reproduce it accurately

Clare Torry solo on Great Gig in the Sky is neither grating nor syrupy

Clock bells on Time are neither shrill, harsh nor blunted, muted.

Us & Them when many instruments and vocals appear simultaneously they are clearly presented without turning to mush, sounding both complex yet as an ensemble.

The album is engaging and immersive though heard many many times. Lesser DACs will put me off to spending much time on this album.

@Azimuth and @jowls , those are good points, which hopefully I have provided some insight on my particular evaluation method.

You should also hear tape hiss on the piano intro The Great Gig in the Sky.

Now I need to try this on some lesser DACs...Yggdrasil A1 with MJ1 clearly passes the test.
