Honestly, for just car use you can probably find a previous-generation UE Megaboom or JBL Charge within budget. Or y'know what, a regular UE Boom would probably fit in your cup holder and be more convenient.
A car is a peculiar acoustic space. Last time I tried any sort of portable domestic player inside the car it was completely useless, even though it sounded decent in the house. But hey, that was decades ago!
I tested an echo dot 5 in the passenger seat today and it was way worse than the built in. Come to think, I may have tossed the iroar go in the back at one point but it must not have been better either. And yea, don't need no smashed windows
I’ve got an IKEA Eneby that I’ve used in the car with decent results. Looks like the Vappeby is the new version, and if you get two, you can do stereo.
