Perhaps this deserves its own thread:

"Amarra for Tidal 2.0" was released today, along with the brand new "Amarra Remote" IOS app. I am enjoying using my iPhone connected to my Mac Mini to control volume and track selection from across the room (into my Yggdrasil and Yamaha HS-8 powered monitors). Pretty neat!

I have been using the 15-day free trial of "Amarra for Tidal" (which was due to expire in a few days, but has been reset to January 29th). Unfortunately, with the release of version 2.0 and the IOS app, they have raised the price from $40 to $50. Oh well, it seems very useful now...

Amarra for Tidal alone is worth the price. Bypassing the Mac's sound processing makes a noticeable difference! Likewise, I think JRiver streams Qobuz now?

Unfortunately for me, Amarra for TIDAL 2.0 just crashes on launch. No response from support.

Update - I never heard back from support. I was dumb enough to buy the upgrade for 2.0 to try the iOS remote app, and I wouldn't do it again. Lots of bugs and design flaws, along with a poor user experience in both the Mac app and the iOS app. Support has been almost nonexistent.

Lots of complaints about Amarra for Tidal 2.0 on Computer Audiophile. I'd be wary of spending $50+ on it.
