My Bifrost Multibit arrived today (it's the silver one). Going to start comparing between it and my black 4490 Bifrost. Has only been warming up for about 7 hours, so it still has a ways to go to sound it's best.

My chain for comparing the two will be Bifrost4490/Bifrost Multibit>Valhalla 2>HD650.

Have been listening most of the weekend comparing the two. Some brief comparisons I took note of.

-Midrange and treble resolution are better on the Bifrost Multibit. Instruments sound more real/natural to my ears.
-Bass has a little bloom on the 4490. Makes it sound like it hits harder, though the Bifrost Multibit has higher quality bass. My ears don't hear weak bass from the Bifrost Multibit like a few others have pointed out. Could be the tubes used in my Valhalla, not sure.
-Imaging and soundstage are about the same, though these have always been more difficult for me to detect unless there is a significant difference.

Overall I enjoy the Bifrost Multibit much more. The natural and realism of the mids sell me on it alone as I value my mids, hence the hd650. The 4490 does bass slam better, but it is offset by the better quality bass from the Bifrost Multibit.

Unfortunately though, I will be selling the Bifrost Multibit. I was in an ATV accident yesterday. Slammed into a tree. I'm okay mostly but the ATV is going to need extensive repairs.

    Oh well.

Damn, sorry to hear that. :( Glad that you're okay, though. Did you at least manage to punish the tree for its base transgression?

There is a good chunk out of the trunk. Unfortunately a good chunk out of the front end of the ATV as well.
