    True. But they are very well armed. When I first saw a headline to the effect "Bose spies on customers," I thought they were seeking out those who criticised their speakers for, errm, appropriate treatment.

    The truth, whilst rather more boring, is also a shame. Isn't noice-cancelling 'phones one of the things they actually do well in consumer audio?

    This is just the tip of the iceberg people. Take netflix for example. It is already a perfect example of data-mining and consumer control. It knows who your friends are, it knows what your interests are, it knows how to steer those interests and create new even-more-addictive content based on your curated and cultivated habits. Plus it's connected to your browsing habits somewhere.

    Music streaming is merely playing catchup, but has the advantage of being tied to your pockets where all your social media lives.
