Made by hand in the Netherlands by the two Brown brothers. They started a long running thread on diyaudio - NOS TDA1514A DAC but after years gave up and designed and made their own DAC.

Not cheap @ €1500 for a 16 bit and €2000 for a 24 bit version. Very unconventional in lots of different ways. Worth checking out I think.

Have you heard it? If so, please post some thoughts/impressions.

Definitely out of the norm but you could, at least, provide some pictures and some basic info about it, since it's a 4/5 y model. It gives the thread a bit more body.

All-in-all, when making a topic about an old product at least make sure u can give some impressions about it...

Yes 5 years old but it comes from a small company that doesn't get or buy the kind of publicity that the big players get. I only came upon it by accident.

I finished my post by saying - check it out, if you had done that then you would see just how unusual the design is and no I can't give any impressions because I havn't heard it. I normally never post about any product I havn't actually heard but this one is so unusual and buyer reviews mention how 'undigital' the sound is.

    G/G,
yes I did check that there wasn't a thread on the Mosaic T DAC and there wasn't. I see that the prices are way lower than 5 years ago. Perhaps next year after the Covid pandemic has been controlled I will visit the Netherlands on personal business. It's such a small country that I can make a detour to Limburg province and talk directly the the Brown brothers and hopefully get to listen to the DA96ETF and their OB speakers and keep my Dutch alive.

It took me years before I bought my first MC cartridge simply because there is so much partisan b/s in the audio world, same goes for DACs. I bought the latest Marantz - the CD6007 because (1) I like the Marantz sound and (2) because this is not just a CDP but has an built in discrete h/amp which I find so good that I'm going to sell my two stand alone h/amps and it has a separate digital board with USB input.

So it will take a damn good stand alone DAC to get me to open my wallet.
