I don't usually like pale ales, but I would totally get a pack if this was real.

 

So far, very much enjoying the Vali 2. Nicely clean and dynamic. Tons of gain/power for the HD650s. At first blush, definitely no worse than straight out of the GOV2 balanced out. It will be a while til I can get a good comparison in to the GOV2 balanced out and determine which is better for me, though. Want to get a better handle on how 3D each is. Audio memory is horrible, but definitely sounds better than what I remember the first versions of each sounding together (GO 450 to Vali 1).

 

Good afternoon, I currently have the Asgard 2 and I am thinking of trying tubes ... can someone give me some sonic impressions comparing both? Thank you!

 

Holy Schiit Jason, that Vali 2 unboxing was a biiiiitch. But I'm ok now. Now for the 800S to arrive...

 

That box was glorious. The engineer in me was grinning from ear to ear as I tried to determine the proper way to open the suspension "cage" without tearing any cardboard.

 

I was just anxious-think I only tore a small part of one of those upper 4 flaps. I considered it a success.

 

Haha. Hard to fight the instinct to just rip everything out to get to the toy. Luckily, I had just had experience destroying the top of a Fitbit box (with lots of consternation and swearing) only to discover the bottom opened up with ease. Took my time with this one and all was hunky dory.

 

Vali 2 (stock tube, high gain) + HE-6 = 2:30 on the volume knob. No schiit.

 

But the Vali 2 doesn't have speaker taps. How can you run the HE-6 from it?

 

He's prolly double amping into 300W monoblocks. This is the only way the HE6 is known to produce sound.

 

Received Vali 2 today -haven't had a chance to listen to it yet but will a little later this evening and post my initial impressions. I will be comparing it to the original Vali 1 and the Valhalla 2.

sure! I will probably do an initial listening session of at least 2 hours here soon. These impressions will just be initial thoughts on it, not an in-depth opinion of it. I already listened to the Vali 1 and Valhalla 2 today, so I a going to just listen with the same setup with the Vali 2 in place of the Vali 1 and V2.

 

The Vali 2 is doing well with my Kenwood KH-K1000s. They are 42ohm impedance with a 98db/mw sensitivity. Really makes them lively. I like the benefits of the hybrid topology as far as the range of headphones it works with. Also, I can't go past 9-10 o'clock without risking my hearing on high gain with my GOV2 set to 450mW.
