Sonus Apparatus - MON’s Shit List

I stumbled on this guy’s recommended gear list and I thought I’d share it with SBAF. This list is geared mostly towards headphone and IEM users but his DAC and source gear impressions would also be useful for speaker guys. He covers a shit ton of gear and I find his impressions to be pretty spot on with the items on the list I’ve heard.

I’m not familiar with MON but maybe some of you have come across this guy on other forums. He seems to have been active mostly on HiFiGuides which is a community I know absolutely nothing about.

It’s a fun read at the very least.

 

Spot checking the lists, the impressions are interesting.

My bias/experience like the ratings of the Borresen speakers and Ayre stuff.

 

M0N is good people and very knowledgeable. He’s always given me good advice over the years. I’ve learned a lot over on those forums, though a lot of the amps and DACs they discuss are out of my price range.

 

Really cool list, thanks. Definitely some $$$$ stuff, but the presentation is in the SBAF wheelhouse re: being able to call out bad gear. Also a good amount of overlap -- OG BF2 getting high marks, Pi2AES, Wavedream, Eddie Current stuff, etc.

Certainly can't say this person hasn't heard a ton of gear. Reminds me of both crinacle and Torq in that sense, good data points.
