Hey guys I've built a 1 in 8 out switcher with integrated Cinemag XLR -> SE conversion.
I'm getting crosstalk/bleedthrough between the outputs. So for example, if I choose to send the signal to output 1, I can hear it on all other outputs as well.

The crosstalk is at a very very low level - BHA-1 needs the volume at 100% to hear the signal.

Ultimately this isn't concerning for 2 reasons:
    1. there is zero L/R crosstalk
    2. since this is a single source device, there's nothing for the crosstalk to pick up to affect the original signal

However, it's a bit annoying conceptually. I'm pretty confident all this is happening at the switches which sucks because there's really no way around it - too many wires in close proximity. Any thoughts?
    The wiring is as follows:
All wire pairs (SE) are twisted, all wire triplets (XLR) are braided.
The switches are wired as shown here (each circle is one wafer). This is the XLR switch, the SE switch is the same thing without the center (GND) wafer:

The cinemags are wired like this:

This is what I always wanted to build!

I think crosstalk is inherent in design with mechanical switches. My Goldpoint SW4 has some, too.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking as well. The only way I can think of around it is optimized circuitboards and relays. At that point though you need a PSU as well and before you know it, you're building a preamp vs a switcher.

I don’t know if this helps, but my Khozmo passive switcher also has modest cross talk. I use inputs 1 and 3 to minimize this.

Yeah it seems to be the consensus. I've never bothered to research passive switcher crosstalk and didn't expect it as long as the wiring is done with care.

It’s actually not a big deal for a single input / multiple outputs application.
