Hey everyone - On a whim I decided to purchase a like-new pair of Sennheiser HD800S headphones today and should receive them later this week or early next.

It looks like Sennheiser now ships these headphones with the trusty old 3m 6.35mm cable and a 3m balanced cable with a 4.4mm Pentaconn connector instead of a 4-pin XLR connector. I have no amps with a Pentaconn connector, so would need a cable terminated with 4-pin XLR.

Wondering if anyone has a Sennheiser CH 800 S 4-pin XLR cable lying around that they may want to trade for my pentaconn cable when I receive it or, if not, if they'd be interested in just selling me their 3m CH 800 S 4-pin XLR cable outright.

    Thanks for considering!

I purchased this adapter off amazon which seems to work fine for me: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B082Y6XSSW
You can probably find something a few bucks cheaper. I didn't have many options up here.

Thanks! I'll look into that. Somehow I didn't get the notice that you had replied here, so sorry for the delay.

Ordered this ddHiFi XLR44B adapter from our own @Bloom. Liked that it was based on a Neutrik connector and seemed to have less failure points than the dongle-style adapters.

For future reference to anyone visiting this thread and living in the US, here are Amazon (US) links for:

@jexby, @shotgunshane: think we can close this one for now. I may revisit a purchase of an HD800 balanced cable in the future if I end up keeping them.
