Was really looking forward to hearing the Yggdrasil this week at home but unfortunately it is delayed by Schiit for a month due to parts supply issues.

I'd be curious to hear a new Yggdrasil a Mjo2. The big step up from Gungnir Multibit/Mjo2 to Yggdrasil A2/Af, for me, has been the holographic layering and it'd be interesting to hear how much of Yggdrasil's stage shows up when paired with Mjo2.

There is a global electronic components shortage affecting every manufacturer that produces electronic products.

I've been so happy with the MB Jotunheim setup that I just had to see what more I can get out of my system by upgrading. I'm fully expecting to compare the Yggy2/MJ2 combo against the MB Jot and even add the Yggy2/Jot combo in my testing as well. Truth be told I wanted to also test out a Ragnarok because I have a stereo setup but that might be too costly to sit on all this equipment LOL.

Doing some quick research it appears to be the classic supply vs. demand situation.

Prithee, what is the root cause of this shortage?
    Inquiring minds, and all…

One thing I read was it seems the manufacturers of basic components got burned during the Great Recession with surplus inventory and where slow to react to increasing demand and did not have enough inventory to keep up. Also, some moved away from basic components to more complex and profitable parts. Bottom line, the shortage will probably last through 2018. @atomicbob’s link is one of the articles I read. It does match information in other articles.

    Ah, I see now.
Industry issues, coupled with increasing demand, coupled with previous experiences during these supply/demand undulations.

    Thanks for that link.

As the least patient person on Earth, I will say that it is, at least, worth the wait.

My Yggdrasil-B is due this weekend, and it will be interesting to hear what happens in the 1st 10-20 hrs of operation.
Especially in the extreme bottom end, where my PWD (standing in, during the duration) has reminded me of what I was missing.
There is a solidity and a degree of whack to the very bottom end that is most inviting.

Yeah I'm looking forward to hearing how it morphs as it settles back in, and from some of the reports it sounds like it might take a month of 24/7 to really show it's stuff.
But repeatedly the 4-24hr period has given me a solid taste of where it's headed.
It will be interesting to see if this pattern repeats.

And yeah we should have a mini meet, and I'll bring my Gen-5 HD800's.
They were at Gen-3 the last time you heard them.

Mr. Moffat might disagree ... but I felt that the Analog 2 version sounded better cold than the original did with a full week of warm-up on it.

I know @Vansen is now in the Seattle area (and I'm assuming he survived Colombia), and @SoupRKnowva is local now, too, along with a few others ... so maybe it's time to do something down in Seattle ...

gefski and mourip both noticed marked improvement after ≈21 days of continuous operation and I think they both were breaking in brand new units, not upgraded 'A' units with many hours already on the rest of the circuitry, which will be my case.

Even so these days my system seems to take at least 500+hrs if not ≈1Khrs for some tweaks and such to fully optimize and stabilize.

Yeah a meet would be great now that the summer is here, and besides we can enjoy the view all the more as well. :)

I'm not going to argue that it doesn't sound better with more time on it ... but Analog 2 still sounded better cold than the original did after 176+ hours.

Let's do it ... especially as you guys have not been to the new place yet ...

    Jealousy is ugly.

Stack my boats end-to-end and they're under 120 feet total. Less than the beam of the Norwegian Bliss that's currently docked across the street (first time in port).

It's a nice view to accompany some laid-back listening, though.
