SOLD: Metrum Acoustics Adagio DAC/Pre-Amp

Well, I don't want to do this at all, but I need to sell my Adagio and divert funds elsewhere. It was awesome having it while it lasted, but house projects here and there, previous and upcoming, are adding up more than I estimated earlier this year. (Examples include replacing a Federal Pacific electrical panel, landscaping work to improve grading and water drainage, furnishing our empty living room, and generally trying to be responsible adults!)

The Adagio is basically a beefed up Pavane with DAC TWO modules instead of DAC ONE. This essentially means double the DACs, an FPGA for each DAC module, rather than one for the entire box, and slightly better performance characteristics on paper. Subjective tests with some locals have shown it does offer modest sonic improvements over the Pavane, namely in focus, sharpness, and dynamics.

The Adagio also works well as a DAC + Pre-Amp for power amplifiers. I tested it out with the Vincent loaner amp, and it worked great! You can also set the volume at a static level and use it as a plain ol' DAC.

The Adagio is overall in good condition. You may find a few micro scratches. The main blemish I will point out is a chip on the top corner of the front, metal face plate (see attached picture). It's tiny, but there. Note that the pictures I'm attaching are otherwise not resolving enough to show actual scratches (anything seen is dust, hair, or camera artifacts). I will take better pictures when time permits or for those seriously interested, but I wanted to get this posted for the time being.

I am looking for $4200, which includes shipping and insurance. Any applicable PayPal fees will be extra.

 

@Torq Well, I'm trying to price it to move, and I know some buyers expect steep discounts for any cosmetic flaws. I think the blemish shows this thing gets moved around, either for experiments or meets, so I'd say it's a sign I got some loving use out of it...or whatever.

I do have every intention of jumping back on the Metrum ship when I can.
