WTB: Schiit Gungnir Multibit A2 “Bleached” version

Just for reference, my Gungnir Multibit was purchased new in early December, 2017. So, after the switch to the "B" serial numbers (I believe...) in October 2017, and around the same time the Yggdrasil A2 started as a "silent" revision, but then formally announced and offered as an upgrade.

 

Yeah I’m trying to find out if your old SN is similar to a Gungnir MB B SN that just went up on Audiogon. @Hooncake tipped me on it (I’m sad that his sarcastic “liking” of stupid posts ended causing him to get banned and lose Friend status ).

This thread got me to pull out my Gungnir MB, which I had boxed up and grabbed on my evacuation of Madison. It is a B600xxxx S/N but purchased in early February 2019, so I wouldn't think that it is a unicorn A2 (if I understand the story). I don't have the experience to distinguish based on straight-up listening. ABing against a Bifrost 2, the Gungir is a clear winner in clarity, which does not surprise me. Why did I wait until now? Lack of desk space. I'm happy to do some experimentation or provide more data if that will be helpful. Otherwise, I'll hand back and follow along.

 

I realize this is a wtb post in the for sale section, and the thread is pretty far off topic, but while we're here; has anyone popped the cover off a unicorn gungnir and compared to one of the "regular" ones?

I'm happy to sacrifice a warmed up unit to take a picture of the internals of what I think is a regular model if that is helpful. Maybe something will jump out at us and we'll have another way to identify these things.

 

I like the direction this WTB is going, maybe some of posts can get rolled into the Gungnir MB thread.

I’m beginning to suspect that Schiit made some changes with the firmware and after responses here maybe changed it again. I think it is great that they can adapt so quickly (if all of this is true). Either way it may be very difficult to get this flavor of Gungnir MB.

 

So I got a Modius and I think it is going to keep me satisfied (for awhile)
