I'd like to use my UERM with my desktop setup, but the Mjolnir just has too much gain/noise. Is the Leckerton still the standard? I'd be feeding it with Yggdrasil.

Just wanted to know what was the general consensus on the T50RP mods available. I've been looking at the Mad Dogs which seems to have universal praise on other forums. Are there other closed back headphones in this price range ($300) that are worth taking a look at? It seems the market is flooded with Open Back headphones at this price range and I really need some closed backs since I live in quite the noisy environment. (Work trucks and barking dogs all day everyday)

Mjonir will more be likely than not too noisy for UERM and really not too much headroom.

Do you mean there isn't a webshop for your local shop/distributor? EU has mandatory 14 days return period for remote sales.

You can atleast order from schiit-europe.com (netherlands). I know for a fact they process such returns without complaining, as I did with Bifrost Multibit. They also have very good prices, less than direct from schiit with all the costs.

If you buy remotely you have the return period. It's a European law. You can also try here:

    http://www.electromod.co.uk/schiit-audio/dac/gungnir/

You can't go wrong with any schiit you buy.

I've already tried it. It sounded pretty bad.

I've had really good luck with ZMF headphones, specifically the blackwood, but listening to the full line up at headphone meets and I liked them all. They are not true closed back phones, but the blackwood offers me the better separation than the th-x00. @keanex wrote a review here that is worth a read.

I've heard less talk about the Mr. Speakers here, some undesirable tonal qualities have turned most people off.

Appreciate the input... but selling as sh is no cheap gamble, at least here.

There is a distributor but no webshop. They just have a price list on the website.
You saved the day there, man. I didn't know schiit had an european distributor. And it is cheaper than the italian distributor and also than the uk one linked below. I'm glad to hear that they're cool with returns.
    My apologies to Schiit.
I know the return period law, but many shops don't handle easily the returns and insist on the need that the item must not have been used for it to be returned. If it has been unpacked it has been used in their (abusive) opinion. That is crazy and again the law, I know. Been there once with a VGA.

About the can't go wrong thing.... I don't wanna sound rude or distrustful but I've heard it too many times for burson products so I ended up buying one. Well... my wallet still aches sometimes only remembering it :D After that I've always tried at home everything I bought. It wasn't so bad at first I thought, but compared to much cheaper gears it really didn't shine.
Still I'm very tempted to go blind on a schiit product... just for the fact that in the golden schlong thread Purrin put everything from burson in the class S special :D:D:D

Ok... so based on what I read here I'm gonna pull the trigger on this one... May the norse audio god be merciful :headbang:

Well it's actually the "benelux" distributor, but who cares in the internetz. If it's online you can usually buy it, EU is all happy family. They had good business savvy with the domain name. :D

I know what you mean fighting with returns in some places. These people answer pretty quickly and friendly to all emails etc. I thought I'm gonna keep Bifrost Multibit so I opened and used the rubber feet etc, they didn't mind. I always try to keep packaging tip top in case of returns, with Schiit there's no need to rip anything it can be boxed back "like new". To be fair I paid the return postage without asking and of course I got Gungnir Multibit instead lol..

One should always get some other candidates for comparison though. It's much more easier to make up your mind when having multiple stuff to A/B same time, same place. Even though it might be a hassle with logistics and credit card limits.. I got a loaner 230HAD from local shop for a week, and Chord 2Qute from Amazon UK as it's simple to "abuse" returns there.

    Thanks for understanding :)
I agree tith the wise advise. I'll have a hegel hd12 loaner and a marantz na11s1, which I like and know very well. Spectacular sounding machine but on the lean side of the sound. Also it is on the expensive side of the wall, so it will only be a reference :)

I'm interested in your thoughts about Gungnir Multibit and the 230HAD, would you care to elaborate a little more?

Dacwise I think Gungnir Multibit was more 3D and smoother up top than 230HAD. 2Qute was ok, maybe a little more in your face presentation, but I felt it was lacking in bass detail enough against Gungnir Multibit to ditch it quite fast. Real enough differences to me going back and forth for a few days, but I could be full of Schiit so YMMV..

His review was actually the reason I got a balanced cable and tried it for myself. Maybe I just need to get used to it, but out of the Mjolnir they sound very brittle/edgy, like there's a lot of ringing around the edges of notes. Anytime the music gets very dense, it just becomes unlistenable.

I'm looking for my first tube amp and have about $1500 to spend. Can i get into something decent for that price? Would appreciate any advice. I love a big soundstage and listen to classical, womens vocals, bluegrass, and acoustic music, and even some edm. My current setup is a Gungnir Multibit and a ragnarok, and I've got the hd800, hd650, th-x00, and pm-3. I'd like to mix it up and get something else beside schiit. I'm seeing no love on this forum for woo? Was thinking about the wa6se. Also looking hard at the icon audio hp8. I dont have the skills to put together a kit.

Check out the Cinemag-equipped, ECP Torpedo III.. it's DIY, but one of the easier builds out there. Beezar.com offers some pre-built units, too. You could commission someone to build it for you (and soup it up further with some simple upgrades). Even with any of these options, I'm certain it comes in for way less than $1500.

The other reason I'm suggesting it is because It should play great with all your cans and probably spanks most, if not all, of the Woo line. I recommend you read up on ECP & the TIII, too.. cause those amps' synergy with the high impedance Senns (and the TH-X00, pet some folks here) is pretty legendary.

Hi, I'm looking for a good mid tier DAP, in the range of 200-300$. My main considerations are sound quality and durability (probably will use it for a very long time). I will mostly pair it with my iems, however I plan to purchase a HD650 in the future and would love if the DAP can drive the HD650 to a decent level.

I am thinking of the iBasso DX90, Pono player (used) or the upcoming Luxury & Precision LP3... do you guys have any recommendations?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

I love my Pono player but given that the L&P 3 is only selling for $299 right now, and appears to have more versatile I/O options than the Pono (can be used as a DAC, SPIDF out as well), I'd suggest trying it first. If you don't like it, you can sell it and at least break even.

I have an iBasso DX90. I don't know how it compares to the other music players but I'm satisfied with the power output, the ease of using the device, dual microsd slots, and the sound quality. I'm not impressed with the battery charging time, though battery life is decent enough to use it all day.

I had asked them for output impedance specs, since the LP3 is designed for iems. As far as I know they still haven't published them. If less than 1 it would certainly seem to be very good deal.
