Had some last-minute business-related things that resulted in a tax refund. We're going Gungnir Multibit. Now, what amp would go well with Gungnir Multibit - an upgrade from Vali 2/Magni 3 and Modi Multibit?
Yeah the Lyr 3 is getting unamimous love at the moment, seems like a great option. Mjolnir 2 appears to offer a different set of trade offs, but it’s 50% more expensive, balanced, and really needs better tubes than stock.
Was leaning towards Lyr 3. The impressions posted here make it sound like everything I like about Vali 2 - but done better. I'll get shot for asking, but... "I wonder if there are any good SS options." To compliment the Lyr 3, not to exclude it. :-)
Well, personally I avoid having a collection of anything audio. Get the best thing for the job, with the best set of trade offs, and accept it. The Lyr 3 is reportedly incredibly clear anyway, and being a hybrid you tend to get some of the best of both worlds.
I expect, if they had to, others might recommend the Jotenheim. It’s a current feedback design like the Magni 3, but then you need to go balanced.
Ah, yeah, you might want to change that. It’s too similar to someone else’s whose been around longer and everyone knows. I’d choose something different, before a mod does it for you.
I doubt anyone can claim similar avatar now. Don't want to step on any toes <-- I mean this sincerely. Earlier, I was a bit surprised - maybe annoyed in the minor eye-rolling sense, but I want to be a good citizen. My bad.
It’s not about anyones toes. It’s a tightly knit community, and everyone is familiar with everyone else to different degrees. After awhile you recognize people’s avatars automatically and don’t even look at the username. So this is just to avoid confusion.
