@atomicbob, I didn't see it on that web page, but isn't part of the reason for lab usb hubs to prevent crazy stuff being sent up the wire to the host computer? PCs are better when they are not exploding ;)

@Thad E Ginathom the main purpose is to minimize noise downstream to the USB device, especially when testing USB devices in an EMI screen room.
