I think playing with crossover slopes might be more productive but perhaps not as easily implemented? That has been my experience with subwoofers at least. Are you using dsp?

Yeah, agreed. I'm trying to simplify this system, so moved away from bi-amped+passive XO to all passive XO. The 18" woofer has a single inductor on it, but I worry about higher frequency breakup, so going to move to a 2nd order XO for the woofer while bumping the corner frequency a bit higher.

The horn has just a 47uF cap on it, but that combines with the acoustic cutoff to approximate a 2nd or 3rd order slope.

Hope it works out! Sometimes i feel spoiled by digital crossovers when i look at the work you have to do when going passive. But no free lunch in audio i can of course see the merits of fully passive.

Yeah, it's about $60 in parts to just try out a new XO. :)
