Good. Stoopid people in government didn't realize what a PIA it is. If they want to go after rich people, then go after rich people, not Uber drivers and people who sell random crap on eBay to supplement their income. $600 is way too low of a threshold that only results in more "noise" for the IRS to sift through. Anyone with half a brain would know this.
99% of the time it isn’t even selling to “to supplement their income”. Personal sellers are almost always selling for less than their cost basis. So it requires a bunch of paperwork to show that by people in a situation for which there is very little tax fraud.
Ya let's shake down some middle or working class person for 25% of the $20 profit they made selling old video games and trinkets while paying the agents $50+/hr for 2+ hours.
But of course we can't amend the tax code to actually tax large corporations or, more importantly, reduce waste + increase efficiency in government spending b/c HURRRUR DURRRRR HURRR I WURK AT GUBAMINSSSSS GIMME CHEESSSEEEE!!##^@!!!!
