Depends on the type of tube and circuit IMO. So for example - I've had good luck with most vintage rectifier types and assuming it's a good seller, most last for so long that chances are you'll be OK. However, if you do get a bad one, the impact is usually pretty bad.
Vs a 6922 - so many bad ones out there, but in a lot of amps if you don't leave it on for too long, no real damage, you just get no sound.
