I've been considering super tweeters for my single driver speakers for a while, but problem got solved for now with a bright source. Still might add them in the future. (I'm in the transducers first camp)
My speakers have about a 4dB shelf-drop above 16kHz and then down about 8dB at 20kHz; I figured I wouldn't notice it much, and played with eq-ing it up, but that didn't change much. I've got the x-over on the supertweeters set at 16kHz at -2dB, but I'm still playing with levels. So far, the more subtle the effect the better, imo.
I'm getting older and spent my early 20's-30's playing in noise bands and going to noise & metal shows, all with no hearing protection, so I can't hear anything above 15ish khz - probably irrelevant for me at this point.
