Tag each track accurately (performer, composer, etc.) and set the Compilation flag on the album.
*Edit:* I misread that. Use the Compilation tag if an album has different lead performers. For multiple composers, just use the Composer tag. Your playback software should be able to handle it.
If an album has multiple artists/composers I just put it in its own folder named according to the name of the release. @gepardcv What's a compilation flag and how do I use it?
It's a metadata tag supported by most audio formats. If you organize records by performer then album (e.g. "Philip Glass/Solo (2024)"), then the "compilation" tag deals with the special case of multiple performers (like this album: https://www.discogs.com/release/13935860-Various-Basic-Guitar). In that case, set that tag on every track to True, and put the album in a Compilations directory.
BTW, if you don't use jukebox software which indexes metadata tags, it becomes harder to search. You can work around it by following a naming convention (e.g. "Philip Glass/Solo (2024, Philip Glass)" or "Yehudi Menuhin - Sonatas & Partitas (1957, Johann Sebastian Bach)", but it's a lot easier to just use tags and a simpler structure.
