I've sent him 4 or 5 emails now. He did the mercury rectifier mod on the Studio B I have so I feel like I deserve at lest a response. I don't know who else could fix his modification.

But I can't just sit on these 2 amps! There has to be a way to fix EC amps. I'm happy to ship them to someone if anyone knows someone else. Thank you!

That’s a pain, sorry to hear. Hopefully someone can refer to someone competent. Do share if you find anyone - I’d love a backup plan in case my Studio B has an issue. The lack of support might be the biggest issue with buying an EC amp today - I get they punch above their weight for the price, but you pay for it if you have a problem (although, to be fair, there’s lots of folks with very old and still working units).

I've had vintage guitar amps serviced locally, including a 1980s VHT UL in the early 20-teens. Sadly that company has closed their doors.

Would it be too sacrilegious to reach out to someone like steve deckert head honcho at decware?

@yotacowboy i can’t imagine him being interested in trying to fix someone else’s design instead of making his own amps. I guess I could try though. There has to be a way this is like 5-6k invested here. Not to mention precious works of art.

Maybe its worth contacting a custom amp builder like Oliver Sayes, James Burgess or Ming Yang and ask if they would be willing to repair?
