Ok I'll admit it. The @ultrabike carnal hug (see Staff member roles thread) made me buy this from a SBAF Friend. All that affection !

I cancel my intrest, since the older/more known members come first! Anyway, just got this message from AustinValentine: as I noted in my listing, I give long time members priority on items...and one of them up and bought the Sine straight away.

    IceUul,

    1. Averting interest isn't the same as a firm commit to buy. The message where you firmly said you'd take the Sine & V2+ came well after Koth's firm decision to purchase (and payment for the item, for that matter). There was no request from you to hold it and no declaration from me that you were first in line for it. As far as I could tell from the messages, you were still thinking about it. That's the essence of "First Come/First Served".

    2. The "friends and Members of long standing" clause in my first post isn't about duration of membership but level of activity on the site. I'll make sure to word that more clearly in my logistics section. But, any guesses why I have that clause in there in the first place? It's not there to turn the site into a good ol' boys club where the staff and people who know the "secret handshake" get all the prime cuts and new members get scraps. It's not a Stonecutter's type deal, where you get priority on purchases based on the order in which you joined. It's there because active members are more likely to post impressions and reviews of the gear (i.e. generate useful content for the site). I've commented previously on how I sell things well below market here because it's a public good to the broader hobby to get gear in people's hands. A correlative to that is that getting gear in people's hands does the most benefit for the community when people talk and post about the items they've purchased. When given the choice between selling to two members and one has 15 posts and the other has 225 posts (and has purchased multiple other items from me in the past, showing a history of extremely easy, drama-free transactions), I'm going to unapologetically choose the latter every single time unless there's a firm commitment to buy or an explicitly-stated agreement to hold the items for discussion or negotiation. Buyer beware indeed.

    3. In over 50 transactions with members on Changstar and SBAF (and another 50 transactions on Head-Fi, and another 100+ transactions on eBay, and a whole bunch more over at USAudiomart/Canuckaudiomart...etc. etc.), you're the first person I've had any level of problem with difficulty or drama from. The reason for that is I do my best to try to treat people with the general dignity, respect, and courtesy that they should be afforded just for being a living, breathing person. All that said, I suppose that the nice part about selling things well under market - indeed taking a loss on every item I sell - is that the number of fucks that I have to give is pretty much fixed at zero. All that said: do you think that coming into a thread and complaint posting about getting passed over on a purchase is going to make people on the site see you as a more appealing potential or future buyer? That's not some sort of veiled threat -- I have neither the authority on here to pull something like that off, nor would I want to because I think that you were just posting to blow off some steam after not getting the item that you wanted. Venting is all well and good, lord knows I've gotten frustrated or outright angry after one of my own objet petit a failed to end up in my hands. I'm just not so sure that you're going to find a lot of sympathetic ears here on your "and then he sold it to the other guy!" tale of woe. I guess what I'm really trying to say is that a boy named Sue's got to get tough or die.

Austin, I thought i already had them, BIG BIG misunderstanding here, anyway i was just happy to got first good deal from SBAF/Changstar and canceled my order for GOV2+ infinity which i have waited for few months already, maybe i have been too much in headfi, where first who shows real interest gets the item. Sorry, did not know the unwritten rules of this forum, but thanks for the long post, i am much smarter in the future.

No worries! You're a nice guy - and I certainly understand the frustration.

In the future though, I'll be a bit more careful to make sure about buyer expectations re: whether or not an item is on hold for them or not. (Even if you sell things all the time, there are always parts of your own process that can be improved. Learning experience for both of us!)

I received the ALO Rx MkIII-B yesterday and I cannot stop listening! What an addictive sound. That bass boost dial is a minor miracle, adding extension and warmth without ever going basshead on the music and drowning out the rest of the FR. It's a crime that ALO discontinued this amp.

Added a modded HD650, a Marantz Integrated Amp; dropped the price on the Corda Rock to a really, really low price; removed the Sennheiser Amperior, which I'm just going to keep around as a beater.

Also added words re: LH's latest shipping delay.

50/50. I have a social engagement this weekend that I'm supposed to be at...but it's in the Chicagoland area, I'm definitely going to try to sneak out for a day to hit up the expo if possible.

If I do, I'll definitely give Expo impressions.

Have you tried the Marantz with your HE-6? Or is it the space constraints that's the problem for you?

I have - it sounds fantastic. Both off banana plugs and the headphone jack, which has a shitload of power.

Unfortunately, my listening desk is also my work desk and I seriously underestimated just how large this thing is. (I thought it wouldn't be much larger footprint wise than my Gungnir Multibit, though quite a bit taller. It's the size of a standard AV receiver, which means it's way longer than the space I have to slide it into. In August, I'm going to have time to reconfigure my workspace. But that doesn't help at the current moment.)

Gotcha thanks.... uggghhhh so tempting. I'm at this weird crossroads where I'm trying to be content with it out of Mjolnir 2 (never heard it out of anything else), but am unsure if I need to explore power amps or go the other direction and sell the 6...

Someone else buy this now so I don't in two days

Get or build a banana plug cable, go to audio stores and try out a few decent power amps. Then you shall know for sure.

    Also Free bump. :)

@MrTie I just grabbed it

I have all the materials to make a banana to xlr adapter, now I actually have a reason to assemble it

Would do the audio store thing if I didn't live in a small college town, good suggestion
