BIG MEET SuperBAF INTL 5 NOV 2016

Hope you can make the SBAF meet, but there are a number of HF meets in the Bay Area in case you cannot make it.

 

There are still rooms available at the Hilton LAX under "ZSG" group code. I just booked. The code knocks the room price down to about $140/night before taxes. Overnight parking charges seem to be $29, but what are you going to do. Rolling equipment from the room down to the exhibit hall on a hotel luggage cart ... priceless.

The bad news for me is that my Utopias probably won't ship before the meet. Bummed about that, and I might be headphoneless for all intents and purposes. I doubt many people will be brave enough to put my old, gnarly HD600s on their head. Heh.

 

I assume there will be at least 3 or more pairs of Utopias at the meet. I will be bringing mine. At the last mini meet in LA, I think there were 2 or 3 pairs. I think even more people may have gotten theirs by now too.

 

Darrin, I've never heard the Utopia's. I'd love to spend some time with yours at the meet to see what its all about.

 

I'll bring my Ragnarok but of course people can try the Utopias on whichever amp people want to. I have a WyWires Platinum balanced cable and my DIY conversion of the stock cable to balanced.

 

As this meet is getting closer, I'm thinking of setting up a small headphone rig with vinyl as a source. @Marvey , still got a small table section to use? I'm coming in with this idea pretty late, so if it can't happen, no problem at all!

I have a concert to attend at 7pm on November 5th as well, so just have to plan it out. Will probably tear down the rig earlier so that I can make it there on time without any stress and more importantly, get to spend time with folks!

Glad you're coming @shaizada. Now I can thank you in person for your magical analog recommendations. I'll also be up for buying a drink for friends who come the night before, or stick around Saturday night as well.

 

I requested a half table but I'm thinking of not bring my setup anymore due to time constraints. It's yours if you want it.

Oh I signed up for half a table but I won't be using it, if anyone needs extra space just use my reservation. Gaurav, if you need a whole table you should have two halves now.

 

If anyone still needs a place to stay, @SteelCannon and I booked ourselves a house on airbnb just 15-20 minutes away from Hilton Lax. We can accommodate 2 more people (air mattresses) and split the costs. It'll be cheap. Please PM me if you're interested.

 

Is anyone bringing an Eddie Current Studio by any chance? Really want to hear one with my HD650M.

 

I will have the loaner Jot, my Modi Multibit, and the loaner HD650. If there is space, I'm happy to set it up. Let me know.

I will not have any extension cords, though, as I'm already traveling rather heavy.

 

With just a little bit of luck I'll get the necessary break in my entirely-unexpected last-minute travel to still be able to make this.

I've been looking forward to it since it was first mentioned - principally for the purpose of meeting you buggers in person. Any listening time will be a distant second to that.
