So, as posted elsewhere, I am LOVING my new Skoll/Kara combination for both LP and CD.

But, I still have a bit more low-level hum/noise in phono that I would *prefer* (it’s nervosa for sure, but…)

It got much better when I put in a new DHLabs Silver Sonic BL1-based DIN to RCA cable for the phono to Kara, but, I still think it could be MOAR BETTAH!

So, the “balanced is best” brain-worm has screwed itself into my cortex.

And, my searching is yielding bupkis…

Question for those more experience with such things: Can I just buy a DIN plug (female) and then wire up two runs of typical cable (such as their BL1) to Left and Right XLRs (and use the single ground pin on the DIN plug to go to both ground pins on L/R XLRs)?

And/or if I do this, do I need a separate/3rd split-off ground wire to connect to the ground post on the phono pre?

It seems to me that I would need to do somethin like:

    1. A Left 2-wire cable connected to DIN L hot and cold
    2. Same for right, to DIN R hot and cold
    3. A third 2-wire cable with both connected to DIN

Then at XLR end, the pins 2/3 of each connected L/R appropriately, and then the two grounds connected to Pin 1 of XLR for each side.

Is this right, or wrong, or is there a better way? (And/or anyone find a decently priced commercial variant - e.g. under $200)

    TIA from blizzard-vile, NH!
