Great, now I really want a THX00. Why can't I ever be content with my decisions?

These pads are super comfortable. I thought they may cause pressure due to the small openings, but I can wear them for hours at a time with no problems at all. If it is easy to swap I may change some pads around and see what happens to the sound.

So mixed reports about isolation leave me to wonder, what is the actual difference percentage wise in isolation compared to the TH-600/900?

Jew, if you want real isolation, have you tried inner ear monitors? I used to use closed headphones for isolation. But then I realized that closed cans really don't isolate at all under, like 500hz, and so you get this really loud noise floor that interferes with the music if you're in anything but a library.

Nah, just some isolation for the TH-X00 would be nice. I have a pair of Blackwoods coming that will be my main closed pair. Just would be nice to be able to also use the TH-X00 at the office.

If you need isolation, the HD 25 and 280 are still around. The drummer variant of the DT 770 too if you want to skin bash. Closed headphones are tools. Not that Hans Zimmer movies, Celtic Frost, and the Stooges wouldn't be ridiculously fun sounding on these.

Again, I don't need total isolation. I'm just curious if the TH-X00 are nominally more isolating than the TH-600. I can use my TH-600 at work but it would be appealing to me if the TH-X00 offered additonal isolation.

Honestly, I've been thankfull enough to be content with just my LG V10 an HD 25-1 II in any kind of noisy away form home environment. I'm debating even keeping my HM 901 around since I'm settled in again, as it gets maybe 2-3 hours of use a month now a days

point being, with headphones of this Size I suppose I'm thankfull I don't really have a need for isolation. I may have a job in the future that may require less leakage but we'll see ^^

I'm excited to get a hold of these either way!

Nah it'll be basically the same isolation.

I hit F5 all the way up until the drop opened. Immediately joined once it was up. Still no tracking. Not complaining, they've got a lot to send. Maybe it's based on alphabetical order or something else?

Don't turn this into the head-fi thread, let's keep the signal to noise ratio high.

That's an invitation to you guys to move to head-fi. When you think head-fi is worse, think again.

In other news, I'll be able to pad roll quite a bit and take measurements with each pad. So far it seems the stock pads, Alpha pads, and stock (original) Denon D2000 pads should easily fit on the headphone (I have pairs of each).

Are there any other pads that TH-600/900 or Denon DX000 people tend to use? I think I have about a million Hifiman pads.

The ol' j-money pads probably, but alpha pads are the most appealing to me.

Parhaps ZMF pads, they have really thick foam behind the pads which Will (that massdrop guy) claims makes a big difference. There is even a protein version of the ZMF pads which might keep the sound somewhat similar while providing a bigger opening.

I'll happily give any pad a try/measure, so long as someone sends me a pair. I've already got too many unused pads to buy more.
