Cups, baffle plates, damping & hardware to build the Fostex Tx0RP-based Mr Speakers Open Alpha kit, as described here and in this Head-Fi thread, and further documented at Github. I was going to build myself a pair, but I'm happy enough with my modded T50RP3s that I've decided I'm too lazy to make the effort.

The makers don't want the parts back but it'd be sad if their work producing them was in vain, so if you're less lazy than I am and you're willing to pay shipping cost, they're yours. To complete them, you'll need the drivers and headband from a Tx0RP pair, and pads.

    Included are:
    • 1 set of cups & matching baffle+pad-mount sandwiches for use with durability-enhancing threaded screw-inserts (blue)
    • 1 pair of cups compatible with Mk3 front-vented baffle plates (yellow)
    • Thin foam baffle-to-cup sealing gasket material (white; template for cutting to size is here)
    • Paxmate & Angel-Hair cup damping kits pre-cut for L & R
    • 2 screw+insert kits, 1 small (probably too small), 1 larger (recommended)
    • 2 3.5mm cable sockets
    • 1 1.5m, dual 3.5mm cable with a 3.5mm SE plug & 6mm screw-on adapter (Amazon cheapie).
The cup parts were 3D printed by @Philimon (see the SBAF thread) and the damping kits and larger inserts & screws were supplied by @khbaur330162 . The printed plastic parts require a bit of finishing, e.g. framework to be removed from some (like the inverted yellow cup in the photo), holes to be drilled/cleaned out; and for aesthetics, you might like to sand down and paint the outsides as some in the Head-Fi thread have done.

Open to everybody. I'll ship anywhere except Russia (unless you remove Putin first). The package will be a box measuring 23x17x11cm and weighing 550g, originating at Vancouver BC, Canada postcode V6G 2M0. Favoured shippers are Canada Post and UPS (they're closest to me), but others are possible if you have a strong preference. Payment via PayPal.

I highly recommend using some foam gasket tape instead because its so much easier than cutting out a template. See Open Alpha thread for more details.

And on top of needing a little extra finishing, like removing excess filament from screw holes, the print quality itself is not great. These first few runs of prints were my first try at 3DPrinting so they came out a bit rough. Later prints went much more smoothly due to experience gained and it shows in the smoothness in the print quality (Biodegraded’s is from the first batch). Do not expect Mrspeakers Alpha Prime quality.

I did not like Open Alpha due to the non-vented front-side design. Venting could be added in post production with some ingenuity or by using some porous pads. However I did not try this so can not promise easy results but will wish you luck. fyi, all TxRP have front-side venting stock…

Id recommend just buying a refurbished T60RP for around $230. Comes stock with headband comfort strap, pre-wired for balanced, upgraded pads, and beautiful wood cups. Ill prob buy another eventually. Or if you want the cheapest barebones headphone then get a T20RP refurb for like $110. I do not recommend the Open Alpha for subjective reasons and because its a great hassle for questionable gains (losses imo), but ymmv.

I hope you dont mind the commentary @Biodegraded .

I’ll take this if it’s still available. I just printed my own cups in black ABS and they are beautiful, but I haven’t bought the rest of the hardware yet. (Unless you want to find a person who needs all of the 3d parts, too.)

Also, I’m going to cut out all of the foam with a laser cutter.

Shipping Canada Post / USPS to you would be ~$US 16 for the whole pack. Eliminating the cups & baffles could get it down to about half that. I'd kinda like to get everything out of the house :D - but, your choice.
