I'm tapping out on this one. Got this from Clem few weeks ago. Externally it is in very good shape.

The startup timer circuit has something going on still, it doesn't seem to be related to aging capacitors. I'm not good at schematics analysis but I am not seeing 5v across a diode and resistor that I believe should be seeing 5v on. I have schematics from Glen if it helps.

I did replace all the electrolytics on the power supply and another 3 on the digital board where the timer circuit lives. Inside was dusty as hell and I cleaned most of it out. No magic smoke or bad smells thankfully.

My next step would be to replace a nearby transistor but this thing is such a pain in the ass to work on and I've lost my nerves on it.

The tubes light up, the digital board locks on, the damn thing just never clicks out of warm up. I'm pretty sure you could also bypass the timer relay via a jumper wire and call it a day.

    The gotchas.

No tubes, it came to me this way, pics show tubes just to prove they light up.

Some glue or something across a trace in the power supply board, you can spot it on the far right, doesn't seem to be causing any issues but it looks funny.

I noticed the analog board had a repair done once upon a time, the result is someone having drilled a carefully cut hole in the pcb, it seems a repair done to bypass a lifted trace, this itself looks a little sketchy but seems OK. I'm not a pro but I would have just jumpered over it without drilling the hole.

One of the caps that I replaced on the digital board, I lifted the pad on the bottom of the pcb so I ended up mounting the cap on the underside and soldered on the top side, it reads 5v properly.

I would recommend to use hot air on the digital board because the pcb is just a total bitch to work on if you can swing it.

I paid Clem maybe 400 and put another 35 bucks or so in caps. Asking 450 shipped.

I could also trade perhaps for something interesting, not sure for what, but ideally something equal or greater in market value that could be resold if need be.

Hey Sneis, good taste in the solder station. I have the same one. Brilliant minds think alike. :punk:
