    SOLD

Price is $2100 shipped, paypal fees extra, to friends and known contributors. Includes stock lambskin universe and lambskin auteur pads, pelican case, and ribbon-style 1/4" stock cable. Will also come with pilot pad. Gimbals are copper.
    • Add a katalox salire stand for +50.
    • Add 4ft ZMF 2k copper XLR-4Pin cable with eidolic connectors for +250.
      • The stock ribbon cable is honestly pretty garbo, so if you're getting the verite closed I'd recommend seriously considering getting an upgrade cable, either this one or something else.
    • Condition is 9/10. There are two small scratches on one of the top of the cups under the gimbal that were there from the beginning. I'm the first owner.
      • One thing to note is that the right ear-cup has a tendency to unscrew after some time. This is fine, just needs some thread locker as per the FAQs, but I just never got around to doing it myself.
    • In short, $2400 shipped (plus paypal fees unless gift) for the whole combo.

Bought this back in October 2020, and it's been used and loved. Probably has several hundred hours on it; it's the headphone that made me sell my pheasantwood verites last year. Has a great full, layered sound, with excellent resolution, imaging, and impact/slam, without sounding closed in. Less cup reverb than other verite closed models due to the incredible janka hardness and density of ironwood.

So if I love it, why am I selling it? Since getting the utopia, everything else has slowly gotten less and less listening time, to the point where the utopia now accounts for basically 100% of my listening time now. I just prefer the more open, dynamic presentation of the utopia better, and it works better for the amps I listen with (3f, starlett, and andix at the moment). I kept the verite closed around thinking I would like the change of flavor and because I thought I might need a closed back, but being honest with myself I never really needed a closed back, and I'm just keeping this around "just because". Keeping something as nice as the ironwood verite closed "just because" feels almost disrespectful to it, and I'd rather it go to someone who might enjoy it and use it more.

Random tangent, but I've accumulated a bunch of gear lately, trying and testing different things to see what I like, and I think I'm at the point where I may slim down soon and sell a bunch of the excess. Trying to lean towards a one dac, one-headphone, multi-amp setup, so expect other for sale ads soon, maybe.

I'll be happy to answer any questions in PMs or in replies to this thread, including comparisons/synergies/more impressions if desired.

    Thanks for looking!

Not gonna lie, verite closed + 3F sounds does sound very nice with each other :p 3F helps grip the verite closed driver by the balls and helps tightens the roundness in the bass, while giving justice to all the resolve and speed the verite closed can pull off.

This a great deal! f I hadn't got recently a 2nd VC (stabilized maple burl) for my 2nd location, I'd be bidding.
