Hi-fi vs lo-fi

    Since Marvey got tired of my thread being the most popular thread on the forum and locked it, I'll post here -- hopefully he won't have a problem with that?

    Mainly, I just wanted to point out that hi-fi isn't what Reddit and objectivist cultists think it is. Hi-fi isn't what group thinkers who speak in memes and reaction images think it is. Hi-fi is about how it sounds. Hi-fi has macro/micro detail, dynamic range, good frequency response, air/seperation, soundstage and transient performance. Listening is a uniquely subjective experience so you won't be able to discern hi-fi from lo-fi unless you've heard both. If all you've heard is lo-fi but /r/headphones believes it is hi-fi than you have only listened to lo-fi.

    Yes. I agree with you. Do you see many objectivists here? Now please get a Hi-Fi DAC and a Hi-Fi amp. Stop being a poseur.
