Yes, I'm just waiting to hear back from Craig on how to order and pay for the 445.
Congrats @scottcw I just emailed Craig to inquire about it in case you hadn't. I didn't realize he had one still. Absolutely my favorite EC amp I've heard. I preferred it to the Studio.
Congrats may be premature. I haven't heard from Craig since I asked how to order and pay.
Well, after providing my shipping address and requesting an invoice from Craig, he emailed me that the 445 was damaged by a mover and not repairable. I guess I can't miss something I've never heard, but I was really excited to get the 445 and be done with my system.
Damn thats really unfortunate to hear! I wasn't able to get the Eddie Current Jr from Massdrop but really wanted to pick one up, but now it'll be difficult. Sorry to hear about this, I know Eddie Current was an amazing company and ran by an awesome person!
It seems like the website has updated with news of a possible run of limited Studio B amplifier - I wonder whether is this the special version of the Studio Jr?
I never thought that I would have a chance to own an Eddie Current amp, and then the super 7 fell right into my lap. Not only did it meet my high expectations, it in some ways has exceeded them.
Despite the fact that this amp is too big for my desk, somewhat ugly I just love it. Yes, it does all the technical aspects that a good tube amp does. But it's the engagement factor that gets me every time. Long live Eddie's amps!
I was interested myself, so I reached out. From Craig's email this morning:
"The Studio B will be the same or less cost than the SJ, depends on the new metal house. Same circuit, and sound of the SJ, in a BA chassis."
The ZDT Jr is made by Laconic Labs of Russia. It is Eddie Current branded and endorsed by Eddie Current as sounding as close to the ZD as possible for the cost, but is not actually an Eddie Current product.
