Ortofon Cadenza Bronze Measurements

    Ortofon Cadenza Bronze Frequency Response Measurements

    These plots were constructed from averaged pink noise from a test record. Load was 100ohms.

    This is an MC cartridge with the characteristic MC rise in the top octave. The Cadenza Bronze is known to be a slightly warm sounding cartridge. A touch on the warm side, but not excessively so. There is rise starting from the mid-treble, but the upper mids and to some extent the lower treble is muted - a very broad slight dip from 2kHz to 7-8kHz.

    Compare to the Ortofon 2M Black, which is brighter cartridge with a slight rise starting from 5kHz with a peak at the sibilance region: http://www.superbestaudiofriends.or...urements-and-optimal-loading.1899/#post-52828

    P.S. 120Hz spike is from nearby power transformers of a DAC and CDP.
