Pi2AES Impressions only thread

The pi power input can only be used to power the pi. The PI2AES power input can power the PI2AES alone (jumper out) or both the pi and the PI2AES (jumper in).

The 5V hack is the same as powering from the PI2AES’s power input, but bypassing the 24V to 5V converter on the PI2AES. This also bypasses the input protection circuit so don’t do it!

 

There is a new Pi2AES 2.0 out - anyone know what it is about and how it differs to the first iterations?

I've a Pi2AES modul (old version). I'd like to buy a Gustard A26 DAC.
Is the Pi2AES I2S interface compatible with A26 I2S interface?

The earlier versions (Rev. P3x) are. Later versions (Rev P4) are PS Audio compatible. The newest 2.0 version supports both.

 

Thank you. I ordered my Pi2aes module in October 2021 and received it in January 2022.

 

The rev number is printed on the top of the module.
