    Hi Friends:

I cut the cord a few years back and have enjoyed Amazon played via my Roku XD until all the Top Gear shows were seen, all the Doc Martin, etc. I am not a big movie buff but do like TV.

This year I did not renew Amazon and may try Netflix, but Plex has all these great channels like CBS, Comedy Central and NBC. Problem is I cannot seem to get many of them to load. Yes, James Cordin is fine on CBS, but Blindspot will not load and tells me that it is not avail. Same with the new Daily Show.

If anyone has some expertise with Plex, can you tell me what I am doing wrong? Is it because the shows are not old enough yet?

Netflix and Amazon Prime are cheap enough to go with them both. Both are putting out a lot of good original shows as well.

As for Plex, I didn't even know it had channels like that. I solely use it to stream from my computer to my Roku.

Does Plex have Hulu? Hulu added a $12 a month ad-free tier and it's awesome. Recommended for catching TV shows as they are airing.

Wife was dubious but between Hulu, Netflix and Amazon Prime we've got more content than we can reasonably consume.

Roku + Netflix is more than we can chew currently. Kids love it too.

I am not ready to add another pay service since I do have an over the air antenna and can watch some of my faves in real time.

What I want to do with Plex is use those mainstream channels like CBS and NBC which are on Plex to catch later up when two of my faves are on at the same time.

I used to watch the daily show in blocks as well. Not sure what is wrong. May have to join a plex forum, haha

Plex cost me a one time fee of $5, but I have a feeling that the version I have is different than yours.

We use a Sony bluray player that has a lot of streaming channels, as well as Roku stick, and we pay for Netflix, CrunchyRoll, and we already have Amazon Prime from the regular Prime subscription. More than enough. Haven't had cable since March 2014 (and no, we don't have Antenna channels more than the main 5 national ones in Canada. Freaking Murikans >_>).

Success! My friend said to try the obvious. Since Plex changed the version for Roku a month or two ago, maybe this is why.

He said "why not delete the channels and re-install"

    DUH!

Worked............. Daily show.......worked .......... CBS worked.............and hopefully, NBC when I try it will load

The only thing that I would get cable for would be to watch live sports, but my work has a bunch of huge TVs and guys I watch the football games with every Sunday now so it's no need.

Well, all is not well. Sometimes a show will load other times a message saying it might be gone, then after trying some more it loads. Funky, still waiting for a Plex guru to show me the way.

FYI, yes Keanex my Plex for Roku app cost me $5. Now it is free.............

I converted an Asus Chromebox into a dedicated Plex set top box with OpenELEC. It's pretty great. I have a third gen Apple TV and a Roku 3, but most of what I watch is on my Synology and not streamed, so Plex is the best option.

The OpenELEC version is basically the full PC experience, so everything works. The only issue I have is sometimes the Amazon remote I'm using loses Bluetooth connection and I have to throw it against a wall a few times.
