Recommend one album

Lil Yachty - Let’s Start Here.

So I listen to a ton of genres including a lot of hip hop and rap, but I’m not a fan a mumble rap or mumble rap adjacent music. It’s embarrassing and surprised me, but my favorite album released in the past year is a Lil Yachty album. Rather than a mumble rap adjacent album, it’s a psychedelic soul/ rock album with next to no rapping. It reminds me of a more soulful Tame Impala’s Currents or a Pink Floyd album. There’s a lot of guitar work that sounds like David Gilmour.

This feels like one of those concept albums that I never listen to a single track from. When I listen to this album, and many other concept albums, I listen to the whole album cover to cover. However, if I were to share one song from the album, it would “drive ME crazy!”, which is linked below, followed by “the BLACK seminole.”. The guitar work on “the BLACK seminole.” Reminds me of Pink Floyd’s Echoes.

 

Lol. I know the album’s a stretch, but that’s a hell of a way to earn my fist dislike.
