I have a pair of brand new MH40's that I might as well not break the seal on -- I've enjoyed these in the past (another pair), they have a bit of a relaxed treble but not too much so. They have a terrific bass response that's adequately emphasized, tight, and linear. To me they're very similar to the REAL Philips Fidelio X2 with more sub-bass, more isolation, a little more presence in the midrange, and a little less 'air.' I see them as a terrific all-purpose headphone (gaming, movies, streaming). They isolate well but not terrible so, as to maintain some awareness in a office... As Tyll says, they are incredible dynamic. The minimal bass distortion makes the sub-bass really enjoyable. They're also built to last a LIFETIME. They have a latitude and longitude stamped underneath the pads for God's sake ... It'a amazing that these ear cups start from a aluminum billet...
