    OK, based on this photo:

This appears the bank is charging the phone and the phone is running the DAC. It has a male USB > male / female USB ends.

However, I'm trying it with V2 and my Samsung S7 and that solution isn't working. (female USB > male / male USB)

Here's the deal: My Samsung S7 can power and run a Geek OUt V2 from the phone.

But due to the cable I have (female USB > male / male USB), [SEE BELOW PHOTO] I had to use a female/female coupler. (connecting the DAC to one end, the USB to the other) I believe that is the weak link and is stopping the power/data flow to the DAC. The DAC has no power using the coupler. [the solutions in the next two photos DO NOT WORK]

How do I get around this? I need a USB solution (preferably the cable shown in the first photo) that will allow the DAC to power on using this configuration. Is there a coupler that will work? If I plug in the micro USB to male USB (from the phone) to the coupler and the DAC into the coupler, the same thing occurs. It has to be the coupler. How do I fix this? (or get the original cable shown in the first photo)

    Thanks for any support.

EDIT: After research, I found some cables that don't seem to exist here in the US that I just purchased:

We'll see if these work. In the meantime, if anyone has any ideas for the above situation (without the above in-transit cables), please let me know.

For home use, one can use a powered hub. That's the way I plug my GOv1 into the PC, and I have tried it with the phone and it did work.

Obviously not portable, though, and I guess that the desktop in your pictures is for the purposes of photography only.

I think you will be fine with your new cables, I've seen similar setups work like that.

I've tried about 6 different setups and none power the phone itself. I did have one set up that powered the phone, but as soon as I plugged in the DAC, it cut power to entire setup. I think what I want is not possible.

Oh I see. Yeah, the powered OTG cables only provide the power to the usb device, not the phone. I think you're right, I have never seen a solution that accomplishes this.
