    Glad it finally arrived!
Do both VU meters move by the same amount even though the one is off-centre?

Yeah they do. If the signal is really hot it just stops sooner.
    Edit a pic for clarity:

Hopefully they respond to you soon and it's just a simple screw to adjust to calibrate the zero point.

Yeah and if it's not i might just not bother tbh. This unit is out warranty and I don't want to miss it now, maybe at a later date.

Edit: Damn i'm actually starting to like the Clear og with this amp, the high Q peaks are still there but they are smooth and a bit blunted now. No more jagged needles stabbing my ears just a smooth one sometimes. Gonna play with some pads on the Clear since the stock ones are done and no way in hell i'm paying Focal for their thievery.

    Received a response from SPL:

“many thanks for your inquiry. The device will have to be sent in for comparison and calibration; We advise against trying to adjust the trimmers yourself. The estimated costs for a repair including return shipping are between 70 euros and 130 euros. If you would like to send the device in, I need your full address to create a customer account”

They didn’t say it directly but i think i can infer from this that the trimpots actually adjust it? Not worried about the money i just don’t want to be without the amp for a while. Think i’ll just try the trimpots myself and see if it works. If not i might send it in when i’m busy for a few weeks.

This may or may not help, I dug around my old photos and found some from my Phonitor 2... and to me that looks like a pair of trimpots with loctite or some other glue on them. Now whether or not those are for the calibration of the VU meters, I have no idea.

Yeah the X looks similar judging by foto's. Not sure either how vu meters work and if adjusting the resistance with a trimpot will actually affect the resting position.

Will have a look if mine have glue as well, if not that might be a clue.

Still enjoying the amp and any upgraditis has long gone away. Just one curiosity for those that use remotes with them, do you hear the motor noise through the headphones when adjusting the volume? Most noticeable with no music playing of course but no big deal, it's not an annoying sound.

I have an 'X' and just tried it to check and I do not hear any volume motor noise through my headphones; note that I am using the xlr output. I only hear the motor across the room when using speakers.

I will do some testing when i get a chance with other headphones, right now it's with low impedance LCD-XC's. Maybe higher impedance ones are less affected. I also hear it over the speakers but it's much less.
Edit: Yeah i hear nothing on my HD600’s, just the noise from the amp itself.
