Incorrect. All modifications always substantially improve soundstage and instrument separation. |\/|

I'd love to live next to his house and beam radio waves at the naked Yggdrasil to see if he got any bubblegum pop coming through his speakers.

<Neglecting your tongue in cheek answer and pretending temporarily it was serious>

Actually, turbulent flow is significantly better for heat transfer as you get mixing between the boundary layer and bulk fluid. Boundary layer formation in laminar flow inhibits heat transfer.

</Neglecting your tongue in cheek answer and pretending temporarily it was serious>[/QUOTE]

You know, I actually had a funny feeling I got that backwards. Whoopsie doodles, I'm a metallurgy and solid mechanics guy, not fluid dynamics, although I was *this* close to cracking open the heat transfer textbook on my shelf.

See... in my head I knew that turbulence promoted mixing to a greater degree, but I thought that a laminar state would have a higher speed of convective flow which would have an overall greater cooling effect.

Not to be a "spoilsport" ( well maybe a bit ), couldn't someone simply have said . "Necessary for what ?"

The person who Modded their Yggdrasil may have thought so ! Now I can see if the question was directed toward what the specific reason was for doing certain things , it may have been worth expounding on. One other thing .. Did someone actually post they carried out the suggested mods ? I must have missed that !

As the Subject Line of the thread is worded, I have little doubt that the poster had already decided how he felt about it ! ( I'll have to start paying more attention to thread titles) (Damn... I guess it's too late to change my user name to the "Audio Pacifist" )

How perceptive could you actually be, if you are'nt able to detect when someone is just trying to add a bit more kindling.

(& that idea is about as silly as keeping this thread active; Seriously the "Imogees" didn't tip you off ?)

My apologies if my comments have interrupted your stream of "Negativism".

(In all honesty my apologies to all; I'll quarantine myself from this discussion; There doesn't appear to be any shortage of "value" threads here. I'll be careful not to let the door hit me in the butt when I leave this one !) (Cheerio !)
