I've had 2 Brimar 6BQ7A tubes get bloody confiscated by ebay's global shipping program. They refunded me and screwed over the buyers by just confiscating the tubes. I have no idea why.

But I have 3 Brimar. 6BQ7A tubes here and 2 sound the same - super bright and unusable, and 1 sounds very balanced. All were made in the UK (supposedly)

So I'd just like another or another couple of these tubes as backups or alternate sound signatures. Let me know if you want to sell me one dirt cheap (or fairly priced :p)

I don't want heavily used tubes, I'd like one with light use or NOS still. Thanks!

I haven't found that to be the case, I have found that Westinghouse, RCA, Mullard, Brimar and Raytheon 6BQ7A all sound the same technically, but they vary a lot in signature depending on the 2a3 tubes used. With some 2a3 tubes, the RCA's are too bright in the treble or have a bump in the upper mids or too much bass, etc. I have a bag of my favorite 6BQ7A tubes and it takes that whole bag to get my. Stellaris neutral with various 2a3 tubes because they all make the input tubes sound different. IME there is no "best" flat out.

Which is why I'd like a backup Brimar or some with different signatures. Cheers!
