WTB: Bryston BHA-1

Had this amp looong time ago, but thinking I may have dismissed it too fast and want to see how it compares against my Black Widow.

lmk if ya got one to sell!

 

A comparison I look forward to..

 

i'm also curious about a direct comparison. i currently have a bryston amp, and owned a black widow for a while when the BW2 was first released. from memory, the BW2 is warmer, more romantic, and more bloomy. the bryston slams very hard (more than BW?) but its leading edges are sharper and transients faster as compared to the BW bloomier and warmer sound signature. the BW was by design (i think, iirc, etc) more tubey sounding with some tube-like distortion characteristics. that's kinda why i feel like the bryston works better with like ZMFs and even HD6x0 type headphones cause it makes them slam more and sound more clean and defined. but for those who want warmer sound with more bloom and some of those tube features then doubling down and going BW even with stuff like ZMF may not be overkill. can't comment on soundstage and other details cause its been a while since i heard the BW so grain of salt and all that.

yeah a bit higher than what I wanted to pay for but I'm super curious how it compares w/ the BW

 

Is this the one in head-fi? That unit is very new. You got yourself a great deal.
