WTB: Holo Audio Spring 3 (level 2 or KTE)

Looking for a sound with more body and a bit less incisive. After months of reading it seems like Spring 3 might be my jam. Only one way to find out...

There are two on USAM right now but not the best pricing I've seen for used.

 

@RestoredSparda your conclusion mirrors mine, so I'll be very curious to hear how you find the Spring. I've yet to pull the trigger but have ready many DNA owners recommend the Holy synergy over the Yggdrasil.

 

Will do. I may just buy a new one (level 2) to save some cash as I've heard KTE is a very minor diff on the Spring 3 (compared to earlier versions).

FWIW, I tried everything I could get my hands on, and in my system (which includes a DNA amp) I prefer Holo to even Wavedream. I went on a DAC Journey for awhile after I tired of Yggdrasil, and Holo won. So go with God on your quest for the Holy Synergy.

 

I just realized it auto-corrected Holo Synergy to Holy Synergy but it actually works better that way, amen.

I'm curious, too, about the improvement from Spring to May if you have any thoughts on that.

 

For headphones it's less of a huge deal but with speakers it's incredibly obvious as long as your system is revealing (not too colored or unfocused.)

I had Spring 1 KTE and Spring 2 level 2 IIRC (I went through a ton of DACs, they blur together). I skipped Spring 3 altogether. Vs other Holo I have owned, May tightens the sound up and brings everything into focus. Texture is greatly improved. This comes along with just higher resolution.

For headphones I'm not positive it's worth it. With speakers though, I'd argue it's definitely worth it (unless you're able to just embrace a vinyl-first philosophy and dump the necessary money into that side of things to make it worth it, which is the actual best way.)
