I understand that the lps 1.2 is a big improvement over the 1, thanks for letting me know, appreciated

It’s an improvement, but I wouldn’t worry too much about the differences. The main thing is the LT3045’s in the LPS-2, which veers into nervosa depending on application, and I think a wider output voltage range. What are you trying to power?

You may want to list the voltage range you are shooting for... I may be wrong, but I think only the uptone product in your list has selectable DC voltage out

The Paul Hynes does too, but Josh is unlikely to find one of those unless he lucks out. The Fidelizer supply is set voltage though, you’re right.

Yeah you’d need a LPS-2/2.1 then, LPS-1 tops out at 7V. You don’t need to worry about the current being more than 5 amps - you need to worry about it being not less than 1 amp, which the Fidelizer switch website says the included (SMPS) adapter is rated as.

You should check out the Small Green Computer LPS’es or the AfterDark ones. Former are particularly cheap, which is because they are OEM in China, but it’s a Western company so they are likely picking out or having manufactured non-crap supplies out of the huge crop of AliExpress LPS-style options. You’re powering something very far upstream of your gear, so while I’m not gonna tell you it is impossible for it to be audible, it makes less sense to spend $$$ on an LPS for a switch than if you were using it to replace a wall wart for a DAC or similar.

If you do want to do an AliExpress supply, the “STUDER 900” ones some guys at AudioAsylum thought were pretty good. They’re all under $100. Super annoying to search through AliExpress though, and it will take a month at least to get to you.
