Its great! I do miss some technicalities of the WM1A, but I like the overall darker tonality better and find it more musically enjoyable. Got a very good price on almost new unit, allowing me to pick up a dac1421 for the desktop. Gonna just stick with the zx2 until next sony flagship, or 1Zs start selling at a reasonable price.

The new blade runner 2049 soundtrack can probably be used as a subwoofer test.

I enjoyed quite a bit the soundtrack! a throwback to vangelis' score without being a mere copy/rehash. Found it gelled perfectly well with the mood/atmosphere created in this great movie! a great sequel to a cult movie!

I enjoyed the soundtrack. I went to some imax version with certified blah blah blah blah theater...didn't really care for all the labels, but I was really impressed by the bass in the theater. Very tight, controlled, strong. Came back home listened to it on my studio monitors....just doesn't have the same rippling, felt impact in the airwaves. Wonder many speakers or subwoofers it takes to get the same effect.

I believe my longest drive in one go was a bit over 1000 miles from Boulder, CO to Laguna Niguel, CA on 0 hours of sleep. That was dumb. I was considerably younger. Moving to make somethin' of myself. No idea how long it took, but it was probably a couple dozen coffees.

its like fighting an MMA match yourself vs being at the venue watching it live vs watching it on TV. Not comparable.

Really like the analogy @jayeshrc . All that practice and preperation...hoping and trusting that everything will come together while you just let go ><. No offense taken @melvilian!

For multiple reasons; you cry at the beautiful sound produced and at the thought of the loan you’ll have to take out to own it!

It has such an even response and balance that allows you to do wtvr you want. Its tonality is little on the brighter side which is good for a soloist.

Portable has come a long way. Vastly prefer the WM1A over the GO v2+ in every aspect. Time to try a gumby soon.

        You can do it!

And as it fades away, you might begin to realise how absurd some of it was. But hey, you can have the best of both worlds: it *is* possible to get a kick out of serious gear porn without rushing out to buy it or starting a savings account!
