For anyone who's familiar, I highly recommend Tribes Ascend since the recent patch. Has improved things a lot

Started playing Final Fantasy X last Thursday, 12 hours sunk in.
I am a little annoyed by the VA of Tidus and some of the mini games, I am sure will be annoyed much more when it comes to chocobo racing. I think that was the reason that I only cleared this game once in the past years.

It's because people can't turn off their own nostalgia filter. This isn't an HD remaster crap. This is a full remake, and that's how it should be, bringing the game to the new century after 17-18 years. New assets, new gameplay, keeping the story and memorable sequences, keeping the characters, expanding the universe, finally letting me play as if I am watching Advent Children.

If the multiple FF7 Remake parts are going to be $60 each, they all better be really, really damn good.

Just replayed and finished Monkey Island 2 on an iPad port. Still Damn good. It's amazing the stuff you remember after all this time - like how to win the spitting contest or using the banana with the metronome on the piano to distract JoJo the monkey - it seems so obvious now. Important life skills!

I was a hardcore FPSer on the PC back when Quake 2 and Unreal Tournament ruled the roost, and was l337 before that word was a word. Turned to more platformer type stuff when I got PS2/3 as I could not make the switch to dual analog sticks from my mouse and keyboard days. When my PS3 gave up the ghost almost 3 years ago, I switched to emulating older Nintendo games (even got a Wii mote working with my Surface Pro for some Zelda play throughs) until I built a new computer about 6 months ago. It was supposed to be for 3D rendering and video editing, but it has become more of a gaming rig than anything else. Wanted to play games with beautiful worlds or stories to explore. Interactive movies if you will. I marveled at the worlds of Fallout 3 and New Vegas, but for some reason, I just didn't enjoy playing them. Same with Skyrim, though playing with the boob physics was fun for a little bit. I did discover the Mass Effect series, and short of Ocarina of time and Twilight Princess, might be the greatest games I have ever played. At this point, I just keep replaying through a little bit at a time. Super flawed in many ways, but I was just captured by them. Helps that on PC, I can add in modded textures to make them look a little more modern. Have heard good things about Witcher 3, so that is next on my list, but I am not into fantasy as much as I am sci-fi. aside: I wish more pretty or even noir sci-fi games would be made. I enjoy a good post apocalyptic setting, but man there are a lot of them. I am still waiting for a Blade Runner world that I can interact with. My girlfriend's brother and his friends are all up in the MMO scene, but I just can't get into them. Maybe if they made a Blade Runner one...

Insurgency. Who plays it. Bought it on steam sale for $2.24 and it is amazing.

I've been obsessed with Xenoblade Chronicles X lately. Somewhere around 25 hours in and am still learning things. Very, very dense game. I am actually enjoying piecing together how everything works. Interesting mix of a more Western style open world RPG, JRPG, and with some MMO-like elements thrown in. Lots of beautiful scenery. Fun to run around and explore. Not a game for everyone and takes a lot of patience, but I'm enjoying it.

I'm actually really salty, I've been so damn busy for work that all I've really had time for recently has been hearthstone. After my glory days as a semi-pro dota support, I feel dirty for playing such a casual game.

I peaked before you could get paid to play video games. For about two weeks in the late 90's, I had the highest ranking in Quake 2 multiplayer. Also made it a few rounds in a Vegas Street Fighter II tourney. Been downhill ever since. Playing games casually just to explore or get through a story is all I can do now.

Pfft, the best players always played top level hon... as carry...roughly 3-6 years ago... *cries in a corner because I didn't transfer to dota 2 due to it feeling slow and sluggish*

See you in 6 months, when you get bored and visit the internet again.

@KurtSvensson - Ice Frog is determined to make dota2 less and less interesting, so it's not a huge deal that you didn't make the jump.

FFIX ported to PC and enhanced.
Best FF in my mind and thus best game ever.
I also think highly of the last of us, it is a huge achievement artistically. but I think it lacks the humor and fun in FFIX.
Maybe I turned into adult for so long that I am difficult to connect to game emotionally now, thus I really appreciate this opportunity to be deeply touched again.

    Must finished Mass Effect 1.

Immediately started Mass Effect 2 and Bloodborne. Pretty stoked about both of them.

I really enjoyed ME1. When I started ME2, I missed the auto-recharging guns (why would their technology regress to clips?). If I had to fault the ME series, I'd say the story is a bit drawn out with too many filler missions. I wish games had better writing/narratives.

I started Bloodborne too, pretty awesome but have left it unfinished just like Alien Isolation, the latest Batman, and Far Cry 4 this year. (edit: I mean last year)

Still working my way through The Assignment (evil within DLC). It's more tense than the actual game, no weapons, just a flash light, invisible enemies...I'm not sure why I do this to myself.

Finished the Game of Thrones game. Addictive just like every other Tell Tale game I've played; binge finished it in a week in between life and work.
