@zerodeefex - I've been forced to move around so much in the past few years that I've gotten a bit used to the stress. I also blackmailed my brother into helping with the heavy lifting, so my back isn't killing me today.

Wonderful. This is just so audiophool that I find it almost tempting.

Except that if the motor driving the pot on an amp is so noisy, it must be lousy engineering.

And if there *is* such a thing, real audiophools would just do without remote.

I vaguely remember something like this. It was either from the early days of remote volume control on audio equipment or it was actually the first (that I saw).

the funny thing is that it looks like the motor is attached at the know, not as part of the potentiometer box. It looks like the belt drive is just so they could lay out the thing with the pot in the center. Also, it should be mentioned that the box for the pot is apparently solid copper, they just decided to paint it black for some reason.

I was playing dota2 and civ5. Played some civ6, confirmed I still hate it and moved on.

I started with the x99 platform, and stuck with it. I run some other things on this computer via VMs, so the extra threads are useful. I will say that the slower clock speed versus my old 4790k from a couple years ago actually caused a minor decrease in performance for games, but not enough for me to get upset about

It should be noted that it's an undocumented non-compliant revision, so I'm just pissed at Asus right now. I buy a Rampage V, and the one I get has the wrong fucking backplate? WTF are you smoking over there in Taiwan?

I'll keep that in mind. This is an x99 system, and I got the OEM tray, so no stock cooler for me. I have plans for my next upgrade/rebuild to do an EK-based custom loop, but that is 9 months out.

For the more discerning listener, a dedicated AC line and ground isn't enough...

Holy shit, though. I thought the non-electrician guys rewiring their houses to have dedicated mains were crazy enough. What's next? Anechoic chamber house extensions?
