Thank you, that made my day. I can finally enjoy music after weeks of stressing out. I really enjoyed the quiet part where the bassist was allowed to groove and build up to the last part of the track.

One of my favourite tracks ever. This band had a synergie, the grooves and melodies are another level in their last performance. I must stop here.

All great picks, I was a fan of the Brandee Younger & Dezron Douglas live sessions during the covid lockdowns. They put out an album of one: Force Majure which is nice, I could do without the banter/god talk, but it's easy to ignore. While searching for the bandcamp link I stumbled on this great set from around the same time recorded live at Columbia. Thanks!

Edit: Just want to voice my appreciation for this thread as a source of listening inspiration and great music recommendations.

Edit 2: @ColtMrFire and anyone else please hit me with your Arvo Part recording favorites, I've way over-listened to the two ECM releases.

This album is kind of Zappa. The lyrics are very similar to their older songs (think "Planet B"). This is very fusion, groovy and interesting at the same time. Yes, I cannot sleep today.

Released 25 years ago this month (yikes!!), this album has aged so well:

I'll need to spin my WARP/SKAM 1st pressing tonight. Delicious vinyl.

Been re-listening to the whole Interstellar Space album, Coltrane really left structured music with this one. There's sections where there's a 'melody' but before it can be repeated, John's uninterruptible personal expression takes over and tells something difficult to understand by the mind but easily felt by the soul. Haha listen to that garbage I just said!
