Still pretty confusing, might as well go full british military procurement, eg "Headphone, Planar-Magnetic, Lightened Frame, Pattern 2, Mark II*" or HPMLF P.2 Mk.II* to its friends.
Ok, that's also terrible, but anything where what, 5? 6? effectively distinct cans share the same name will be a mess.
They coder in me just wants them to be LCD-2.0, LCD-2.1, etc.
@Taverius Haha, I know naming and versioning are very tricky, although I prefer [major ver . minor ver] format as long as it's consistent.
Schiit's names are more straightforward. Everybody easily catches that Vali 2 is better than Vali 1, or that Modi 2 is better than Modi 1. The name "LCD2C" cannot give potential buyers intuitive hints of such information IMO.
@SoupRKnowva Perhaps they don't.. To my ears, l2c is just in the newer generation (I admit newer isn't always better - like Senn). Not only sonically but also aesthetically/ergonomically..
I can agree with that, but any improvements theyve made to drivers and driver consistency are already in the regular model. I do think every one of their headphones should be using the suspension headband though, its absurd they dont, its incredible
